The 2018 presidential candidate of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara has expressed confidence of clinching the party’s 2023 presidential ticket ahead of a galaxy of aspirants that have expressed their intention for same.

Speaking lately during one of his campaign trails, the APC flagbearer hopeful told the gathering that he is the party’s choice for 2023 presidential candidate, based on his track record and performance within the party and the country in all the years that he served.

While declaring this intention to vie for the position, Samura Kamara maintained that he is the fittest candidate to face and match the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) candidate President who he lost to in 2018.

Based on his track record, he went on to state that, he is able to engage the ruling party’s candidate in a national election owing to the fact that the 2018 elections went into second round.

He furthered that no other APC candidate has contributed as much as he has to the party during opposition, including the court battles the party has faced and keeping grassroots members and supporters updated about the APC ideology and concepts.

In addition to that, Samura Kamara said, he has done a lot to empower market women and youths, as well as rebranding the party’s image nationally and internationally, adding that no other aspirant has done as much as he is doing.

According to The Exclusive Newspaper, he ended by stating that despite the court case he has, he is sure of been acquitted because the charges are allegations and going into the flagbearer race with confidence and assurance of winning it.
