The Resident Minister for North-West Region and Presidential Spokesman, Alhaji Alpha Bhakarr Kanu popularly known as Alpha Khan, has revealed the actual reason he left the main opposition All People’s Congress.

Kanu, who served in the Administration of erstwhile President Ernest Bai Koroma, said that his relationship with most members of the APC Party became estranged since he opted to run for the party’s Presidential candidacy in the 2018 elections.

He said after he was denied the position in 2017 by the Chairman of the party, former President Koroma, he was removed from his position as the National Publicity Secretary of the APC Executive.

Kanu stated that members at the top of the party made him feel unwelcomed with regards the management of the party.

Kanu is now among a couple of former APC members to have openly joined the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) camp ahead of the June 2023 polls.

The other member to have a no love lost with the APC party is former Vice-President and Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Victor Bockarie Foh.

Foh, openly criticised his former boss, Ernest Bai Koroma tagging him to be a tribal politician.
