On the 2021 Mid-Term Census recently released by Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL).

Reports are that while many APC stalwarts are still adamant about rejecting and resisting the results of the Mid-Term Census, it has started dawning on many of them that it was very improper for them to have asked their members and supporters not to participate in the 2021 MTPHC.

Reports furthered that they are now worried that even if they could challenge the legality of the 2021 Mid-Term Census, their chances of winning such legal battle would be extremely slim, given that it was their Members of Parliament who deliberately abandoned the Parliamentary process and resorted to physical violence directed at the Speaker and other Members of Parliament, when the Presidential Proclamation was tabled before Parliament for the 2021 Mid-Term Census.

They even tore the Presidential Proclamation to the annoyance of the public, especialy viewers who were glued to their television sets According to a concerned Sierra Leonean, who asked for anonymity, “The APC are politicizing the outcome of the 2021 Mid-Term Census without the foggiest idea that those results will help all and sundry since the development of Sierra Leone requires correct data, adding.

“They have already undermined development in their strongholds by asking their members and supporters to boycott the census The Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP-Sorbeh), Prince Coker, who is also Chairman of the All Political Parties Association (APPA) said the Mid-Term Census data is not meant for political gains but could be used by development partners to determine how to develop communities.
He opined that those who did not show up to be counted should have themselves to blame because of their negligence.

Meanwhile, the main opposition APC and Coalition of Progressive Political Parties (CPPP) that asked their supporters and members not to participate in the 2021 Mid-term Census are yet to take position on the results of the census.
