The Internal Elections Management Committee (IEMC) of the All People’s Congress (APC) has announced the successful and peaceful conduct of the party’s constituency elections across unaffected constituencies nationwide.
In an immediate post-election press release issued in Freetown on Saturday, 26th July 2026, the Committee said the elections were held on Saturday, 25th July 2026, with participation from party members, candidates, delegates, observers and other stakeholders.
According to the IEMC, the elections were generally peaceful, with delegates exercising their democratic rights in a calm and orderly atmosphere.
The Committee commended candidates, delegates, party officials, election officials, security personnel, observers and other stakeholders for their cooperation and commitment to maintaining peace and order throughout the electoral process.
The Committee also praised the resilience and maturity demonstrated by APC members across the country and urged all contestants and their supporters to continue upholding the party’s core values of unity, discipline, tolerance and respect for its internal democratic processes.
While expressing satisfaction with the overall conduct of the elections, the IEMC emphasized that the counting, verification, documentation and declaration of results would be carried out strictly in accordance with the party’s established electoral procedures.
It added that all legitimate complaints and petitions arising from the elections would be addressed through the appropriate mechanisms provided under the APC’s electoral framework.
The Committee further called on party members to remain calm and peaceful as the electoral process continues, urging them to respect results officially declared by authorized election officials, subject to the provisions governing complaints and appeals.
The IEMC also extended appreciation to the APC leadership, candidates, delegates, election officials, security personnel, observers, volunteers and all stakeholders whose collective efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the constituency elections.
Reaffirming its commitment to credible and transparent internal elections, the Committee stated that it remains dedicated to delivering a peaceful, inclusive and accountable electoral process that strengthens democracy and promotes unity within the All People’s Congress.
