The All Peoples Congress Party (APC) is preparing for the next phase of its internal lower-level elections as the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) is expected to deliver its ruling today, Friday 15th May 2026, on the pending petitions surrounding the party’s electoral process.
In an official notice issued by the Internal Elections Management Committee (IEMC), all IEMC coordinators across the country have been informed to remain on standby ahead of the proposed Ward Re-Run Elections tentatively scheduled for Saturday 23rd May 2026.
According to the notice, the anticipated ruling by the PPRC at midday today is expected to provide clarity on matters relating to the disputed lower-level elections. The IEMC further disclosed that constituency elections are also expected to follow two weeks after the successful completion of the ward re-runs.
The Committee urged all coordinators to maintain preparedness and professionalism in order to uphold credibility, orderliness, and transparency throughout the electoral process.
The IEMC also revealed plans to convene a meeting soon to address administrative, logistical, financial, and operational matters connected to the upcoming elections.
Party stakeholders and supporters are now awaiting the PPRC’s ruling, which is expected to shape the next direction of the APC’s internal democratic process.
