As Sierra Leone is hours away from Saturday polls, the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has almost completed the final distribution of staff and election materials to designated polling units.

The District Returning Officer, Steven Sallu Kabba told Sierraloaded that the ECSL is 20 percent away from completing their preparations in the northern district.

He said all will be set before voting starts on Saturday morning.

Kabba urged the local population in the district to come out and vote.

Karene District is the home district of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Samura Kamara.

The district has 13 chiefdoms, 5 constituencies and 21 wards.

Sierraloaded understands that the district is relatively peaceful with the local population going about their normal business.
