The leader of the Unity Party, Femi Claudius-Cole is looking forward to renew her term as leader and presidential flagbearer of the party as they hold their convention today.

The party are hosting their convention at the Negus Nagas Culture Radio in Grafton, just outside Freetown.

Reports forecast that the event will attract thousands of party supporters and sympathisers. There was also an indication that the Political Parties Regulation Commission’s (PPRC) Chairman, Abdulai Masiyambay Bangurah will also be present at the event.

Cole, in an interview with the press, said that the convention is part of the criteria set by the PPRC for political parties before the 24 June elections this year.

The party, after the convention, will join the likes of the All People’s Congress (APC), Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and National Grand Coalition (NGC) among others to have conducted their conventions.

The Unity Party was the only party that has a female contestant in the 2018 presidential election. The party, however, performed under par but is looking forward to better that feat in this year’s elections.
