No Force Can Stop APC’s 2028 Election Victory, Koroma Insists
Aaron Parker A prominent figure within the All People’s Congress (APC), Alfred Minkailu Payamba Koroma, has confidently projected that the party will secure victory in Sierra Leone’s 2028 general elections.
Speaking with certainty about the party’s future prospects, Koroma maintained that no obstacle would stop the APC from returning to power. He expressed strong belief in the party’s nationwide support base and readiness to reclaim leadership when the next elections are held.
Koroma also referenced the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone, insisting that regardless of who oversees the electoral process, the APC would still triumph at the polls. According to him, the party’s victory in 2028 is assured.
His remarks come at a time of renewed political activity following the return of APC Members of Parliament to the House after more than six weeks of absence.
The opposition lawmakers resumed their parliamentary responsibilities in a move widely viewed as significant for the country’s democratic process. Their return was welcomed by Speaker of Parliament, Segepoh Solomon Thomas, who praised the legislators for rejoining proceedings and contributing to national discourse.
Leader of the Opposition, Abdul Kargbo, also commended the Speaker for his role in helping restore normal parliamentary engagement. He described the development as an important step toward strengthening democratic governance.
Kargbo further called for the Agreement for National Unity to be formally presented before Parliament. He also proposed the creation of an oversight committee to monitor the operations of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone.
Political observers say the return of APC lawmakers could reinvigorate parliamentary debates and improve cooperation across party lines, while also marking the beginning of intensified positioning ahead of the 2028 elections.

Let the APC start by organising itself. The APC party is currently incapable of organising lower level elections, yet here they are talking about winning the 2028 general elections. With Ernest Bai Koroma languishing in exile, the party leader Minkailu Mansaray hospitalised in India for well over two years, Osman Foday Yansanneh ageing fast and the party in dare financial need, i can not see how the APC will confidently boast of winning the 2028 elections. Mind you, Christiana Thorpe is no longer the Electoral Commissioner. Sylvester Alpha is.
