Bjorn Greene has declared for the position of Mayor of Freetown ahead of the upcoming elections under the main opposition, All People’s Congress (APC).

He made this known on Tuesday, 21st February 2023 at the party’s headquarters, Old Railway Line, Brookfields, Freetown.

The declaration ceremony attracted people from all walks of life including former members of Parliament Seranji Rollings Kamara.

Arriving in a Tricycle, at the APC headquarters, the aspiring Mayoral candidate said his arriworkingwith a tricycle is a symbol of his commitment to work with the grassroots.

He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to his supporters for their attendance. He pointed out that this is not about him but for the APC.

He clarified concerns about the selection of his running mate on the basis that he will not select his running mate during the ceremony, but he plans to work with executive members in the East, West and senior members of the party and together they will come up with the best candidate to help APC Party win the elections.

Greene described his leadership style as inclusiveness because he works with people from all walks of life regardless of tribe or religion. He added that they are seeking representation from any demography.

He further revealed that he has supported the APC Party for the longest time, gone to villages campaigning, and spent his money at a time he wasn’t interested in any position.

He affirmed that he took this opportunity because he believes this is the time he needs to serve his people.

He pointed out that by the looks of things his People are not happy and if he fails to step in there would be challenges in the upcoming elections.

Today I invite all the different mayor aspirants because no matter what happens, it’s our collective responsibility to fix this city,” he said.

He reminded the people that the main goal is for June 24, 2023 and the people  should strive to vote Dr. Samura Kamara as the next president of Sierra Leone.

He reflected that before he embarked on that his journey to Cape Verde, which is a countries with a similar landscape to Sierra Leone. He noted that he went to Cape Verde, and to study their model and get more insight about their city administration.

He further revealed that he went there also to enquire about their waste management techniques, tax collection policy and how their money is used to better the lives of the people.
