Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, leader of the DIB Movement and an All Peoples Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, has issued a public statement mourning the death of APC National Chairman Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray.
In a condolence message, Dr. Bangura described the late chairman as a “distinguished statesman” and a loyal servant to the people of Sierra Leone, expressing profound sadness over his passing.
Bangura highlighted Mansaray’s decades-long political career and dedication to the APC. Mansaray’s service to the party began in his youth as president of the National Youth League, eventually leading to his roles as Deputy Chairman and, ultimately, National Chairman.
The statement also reflected on Mansaray’s extensive record in public office. Throughout his career, he served as a Member of Parliament, Minister of Labour and Employment, and Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources. He was also a key figure in the APC National Advisory Council.
Calling him a source of counsel, stability, and institutional memory for the party, Bangura praised Mansaray’s calm disposition and commitment to the unity of the APC.
Speaking on behalf of the DIB Movement and his family, Dr. Bangura extended his sympathies to Mansaray’s immediate family, friends, the APC membership, and the nation at large. He concluded his message with prayers for the late chairman’s family and for his soul to rest in peace.
