I’m Still APC – Says Alpha Kanu
Recently appointment Minister, Alhaji Alpha Bakarr Sidiq Kanu has been identified as a member of the opposition All people’s Congress (APC) and not the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as widely acclaimed.
Hon Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, acting Leader of APC made this disclosure on behalf of Kanu in the well of Parliament, pointing out that Hon Alpha Kanu has not gone to the SLPP but that he is still APC.
President Bio appointed Alpha Kanu as Resident Minister North-Western Province on 11th January, 2022. The former Honourable served as Minister of Presidential and Public Affairs and also Spokesman for the All People’s Congress political party under the previous government of former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.
Meanwhile, Opposition Whip of the All People’s Congress Party (APC) Hon Hassan A. Sesay has cautioned President Julius Maada Bio over the appointment of Kanu.
He said that the President should know the kind of man he has called to serve in his cabinet as Resident Minister North West.
He stated that although it has happened before, because during the vetting of the nominee, he (Alpha) said he is APC while the First Lady on social media stated that Alpha Khan has joined the SLPP.

Hon Sesay maintained that he did not know between the Alpha Khan and the First Lady who is telling the truth.
Leader for Coalition for Change Party Hon Emerson Lamina said he had no doubt in Alpha Kanu and described him as an orator.
The Speaker of Parliament Dr. Abass Bundu told the nominees that the President entrusted them by appointing them into positions.
Sierraloaded learnt that other presidential nominees that were approved include Hon Rtd Brig General Komba E.S Boyah, Resident Minister East, Hon Justice Ansumana Ivan Sesay Chairman Legal Aid Board, Sadiq Sillah Ambassador to Arab Republic of Egypt; Mamusu Massaquoi Deputy Minister 2 Ministry of Basic and Senior Education, Haja Isata Abdallah Kamara Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Andrew Ansu Fatorma Chairman Road and Maintenance Fund Administration, Dr. Anthony Sandy Chairman Health Service Commission, Abdul Caulker National Coordinator Office of the National Security, Hon Alhaji Bakarr Sidiq Alpha Kanu Resident Minister North West and Isatu Moses Board Member National Youth Commission.
