“Those Who Wish Me Dead, May It Be Their Portion” – Lawrence Leema Speaks on Death Wishes
Aminata Koroma Former Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Spokesperson and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Lahai Lawrence Leema, has spoken out about what he described as wishes for his death.
In a post on his Facebook page, Leema wrote: “Those who wish him dead, may it be their portion! The hand of God is upon me. I shall live to declare the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”
Leema did not identify the individuals he was referring to or provide details about the circumstances that prompted the statement.
The former Deputy Minister has also allegedly accused the ruling SLPP of having a will left by his late father, which he says contains an inheritance intended for him.
However, he did not provide details on how the SLPP allegedly came into possession of the will or explain the specific nature or value of the inheritance.
Meanwhile, responding to a commenter who suggested that President Julius Maada Bio would soon appoint him to a ministerial position, Leema said he was not seeking any government appointment.
“My brother, thank you so much for your concern. President Bio is our president and a father figure to me. I can, in my own little way, support him to complete his second five-year mandate, whether in job or out of job,” Leema stated.
He added that he was not seeking an appointment during the “evening hours” of President Bio’s administration, stressing that he could continue contributing to the country outside an official government position.
“Outside of official assignments, some of us can still give our best for the survival of this country and its citizens. I’m content with what I’m doing. Please stop presenting me as a desperate and needy man who needs to be salvaged,” he said.
