Mohamed Orman Bangura, the Bio-led administration’s Minister of Youth Affairs, has been accused of inciting violence during the ongoing lower-level elections for the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

According to reports from various regions, especially his hometown of Magburka in the Tonkolili District, Bangura has been seen accompanied by a large group of party supporters, often armed with dangerous weapons such as cutlasses and sharp objects.

Eyewitnesses also claim he was seen carrying a firearm, raising concerns about public safety. Bangura has also been seen with armed officers from the Operational Support Division (OSD) in multiple vehicles, creating a fearful atmosphere.

In response to these incidents, the SLPP established Regional Elections Complaints Committees (RECC) to investigate complaints about election conduct and report their findings to the National Secretariat.
