The main opposition All People’s Congress(APC) seems confused following the unconditional reinstatement of erstwhile Vice President Sam Samuel Sumana as a Party member.

Reports are that the former APC National Advisory Council (NAC ), the second highest decision-making body of the Party expelled Sam Sumana from the party in 2015 for alleged anti-party activities and falsifying his academic qualifications.

Sam Sumana wrote a letter in December 2021 to the party leadership after renouncing his membership from Coalition for Change (C4C) to be readmitted with full privilege back into APC.

Justice Adrian Fisher in his ruling on the APC constitutional matter, amongst other things, called for the resolution of all party membership issues without giving any specifics with the interim Chairman’s ruling on the matter, some concerned APC members have called on their MPs and legal team to take the Sam Sumana membership back to the court for interpretation over the interim APC Chairman’s decision to reinstate they wrote

“We are calling for immediate interpretation from our MPS and the party legal team to act swiftly for interpretation from our MPs and the party legal team to act swiftly for interpretation ruling to avoid subversion.”

They added that this is “because the chairman does not have the locus stand to impose any comrade who has been involved in anti-part activities, to reinstates or dissolve NAC without conventional approval.

They further stated that “since the court ruling, no moves or steps have been taken towards what to door not”. They added that the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) referred the party to “ask for interpretation to safe guard the party from personal interest and manipulation”
