The 2023 presidential hopeful of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Samura Mathew Kamara has recently assured residents of Lumley community in the West of Freetown, that come 2023, he will be the country’s next president.

He made this assurance together with his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Kamara, while awarding scholarships to some two hundred school going pupils in Constituency 132.

During the said event at the weekend, the APC presidential flagbearer hopeful who served as guest speaker for the ceremony, thanked the opposition party executive in that constituency for the brilliant initiative to boost education across the country and the chairman, Ibrahim Taribo Kamara for his astute leadership quality.

According to The Exclusive Newspaper, Dr. Samura M. Kamara also promised residents of Lumley that he will continue to award scholarships to deserving pupils and students in that community and advised parents to ensure that their children stay in school.

He also used the ceremony to sell his political campaign theme: “my Sierra Leone, my responsibility.”

In his message, the APC chairman for constituency 132, Ibrahim Taribo Kamara disclosed that this is the second time the constituency executive is facilitating the awarding of scholarships to pupils and students, noting that one hundred and fifty scholarships were awarded last year.

He revealed that for this year, they have dished out scholarships worth over forty-two million Leones by other party flagbearer aspirants and well-wishers in that constituency.

He continued that the scholarships target less privileged pupils and students, adding that they did not consider party affiliation but by merit.

Another philanthropic, Mamoud Kamara, alias Mr. Nice thanked the APC executive for the initiative, noting that the scholarship will help parents in buying school items for their children and also give hope to the less privileged.
