Sylvester Massaquoi Elected APC Pujehun District Chairman
Aminata Koroma The All People’s Congress (APC) has recorded a major change in its Pujehun District leadership following the election of a new district executive on 27 September 2026.
All incumbent district executive positions were changed during the internal elections, including the positions of chairman, vice chairman, secretary, Young Congress Leader and Women’s Leader, among others.
Mr Sylvester Massaquoi emerged as the new APC District Chairman after defeating incumbent chairman Mr Mohamed Amadu Sesay, popularly known as Dr Woo.
Massaquoi secured 61 valid votes against Sesay’s 51 votes, giving him a 10-vote margin over the incumbent.
The election brought together APC delegates and party stakeholders from across Pujehun District as the party continued its ongoing internal district-level elections across Sierra Leone.
The APC’s published election information had identified the party’s District Office in Pujehun Town among the locations for its electoral activities.
The leadership changes come as the APC moves towards concluding a series of lower-level internal elections across the country. The party has previously stated that the electoral process is intended to resolve outstanding internal electoral matters and facilitate the orderly completion of its district structures.
With the new executive now in place, Massaquoi and the other elected officials are expected to work with party delegates, supporters and stakeholders to strengthen the APC’s structures and activities in Pujehun District.
The outcome also brings an end to Sesay’s tenure as district chairman, with the former incumbent now joining other party members under the newly elected district leadership.
