In recent times, there has been controversy over the release of Leone Stars official Supporters Jerseys. As the AFCON draws closer, The Sierra Leone Football Association released an official jersey with the cost of 150,000 Leones

However, In the recent Launching of the National Sport Basket Fund by President Bio, the  National Sports Authority together with the Ministry of Sport unveil another Supporter’s Jersey which is cheaper than the previous jersey released by the Sierra Leone Football Association

 

In a recent Interview conducted by Africa Young Voices Television, the communication Person of the National Sports Authority Eric Fomba Justifies that the rationale behind the release of the Jersey is to reduce the cost burden on many Sierra Leoneans. He emphasized the need of making the Jerseys affordable to all Leone Stars supporters.

However, when asked about the SLFA supporters jersey previously released, Eric Fomba declines to respond because he maintained that he represents  and speak on behalf the National Sports Authority not SLFA

The head Of Media and Communications of the Sierra Leone Football Association frowns at the second unveiling of a supporters Jersey by the Ministry of sport. In a recent interview, he considers the action as unfortunate considering the fact that The Sierra Leone Football Association had previously unveiled an official supporter’s jersey to Members of the public ahead of the AFCON Competition in Cameroon.
