SLFA President Babadi Kamara Attends High-Level CAF conference in Cape Verde
Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara is attending the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Strategy Conference in Santa Maria, Sal Island, Cape Verde.
The high-level, three-day summit, convened from October 7 to 9 under the leadership of CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, brings together top football administrators, technical experts, and head coaches from across the continent to map out the future of African football.
The conference follows a historic showing at the FIFA World Cup 2026, where a record ten African national teams competed on the global stage, with nine advancing to the knockout rounds. Building on that momentum, delegates are reviewing key lessons from the tournament to develop strategies to elevate African teams ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
Beyond elite national team performance, the agenda covers the sustainable growth of the game across all levels. Key focus areas include: Grassroots and Youth Football: Establishing structured talent pipelines and long-term development pathways.

Women’s Football: Accelerating investment, competition quality, and participation across member nations; and Technical Standards: Enhancing coaching education, refereeing standards, and administrative capacity across CAF’s 54 Member Associations.
For Sierra Leone, President Kamara’s presence at the conference ensures the country actively participates in shaping continental football policy, securing strategic partnerships, and positioning the SLFA to benefit from upcoming CAF development initiatives.
