Sierra Leone internationals Mustapha Bundu and Augustus Kargbo went head-to-head in the English Championship on Saturday as Blackburn Rovers hosted Plymouth Argyle.
Kargbo played a key role in Blackburn’s victory, providing a crucial assist for the second goal that sealed the win. Meanwhile, Bundu and Plymouth Argyle endured a tough outing as they fell short on the road.
Despite the result, the two wingers shared a moment after the final whistle, exchanging jerseys and catching up.
The match is Kargbo’s third for Rovers since joing from Serie B side, Cesena. The winger is expected to make an impact for the former English Premier League champions as they plan to return to top flight football by the end of this season.
Meanwhile, Bundu’s Plymouth are currently struggle in the Championship as they face an uphill battle to climb off from relegation.
Both Bundu and Kargbo, who featured for Sierra Leone in the 2021 AFCON, are expected to reunite in March when the Leone Stars take on Guinea-Bissau in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
