Chair of the first Sierra Leone female Premier League board, Asmaa has reflected on her Journey in Sierra Leone Football.

The highly respected girls’ advocate and female Journalist recalled her appointment in 2019. She confirmed on her Facebook page that she was Co-opted into the Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai-led Premier League Board. A board that successfully brought life back to football in Sierra Leone, a board that arguably ran one of, if not the best league ever in the history of football.

Asmaa has been an executive member of the 2019 champions East End Lions football club, a premier league club that is dear to her heart.

She added that In February 2022, The Sierra Leone Football Association appointed her as Chair of the First Women’s Premier League Board, with six other phenomenal women as board members. She further clarifies that the task was simple, “To organise the First National Women’s League. On Saturday, October 15th, 2022, we made history. The first-ever women’s premier league kickstarted. My heart is full of joy as I lead this process. Thank you, Allah; with you, everything is possible.
We made history.”

She has won several local and international Awards for her contributions to national development.
