Construction work on a 435-seater pavilion at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Technical Centre in Kingtom is progressing steadily as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade the facility and improve football development infrastructure in the country.
The project was donated by the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Babadi Kamara, as part of his commitment to enhancing the standard of football facilities and creating a modern environment for players, coaches, and football stakeholders.
The pavilion is expected to provide improved seating and viewing facilities at the Technical Centre, making the venue more suitable for football activities, training programmes, and sporting events. In addition to the pavilion, the project also includes the installation of a state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard, which is expected to further modernise the facility and bring it closer to international football standards.
The ongoing upgrade forms part of broader efforts to transform the SLFA Technical Centre into a modern football development hub capable of supporting the growth of the sport in Sierra Leone.
SLFA officials said the investment reflects a commitment towards improving football infrastructure and providing better facilities for the development of players and sporting programmes.
The construction of the pavilion and installation of the electronic scoreboard are expected to enhance the experience of players, officials, and spectators while contributing to the continued development of football facilities across the country.
