East End Lions Set for Tough Battle After Draw in Pot 2 for CAF Champions
Osman Tolo Sesay East End Lions Football Club of Sierra Leone have been drawn in Pot 2 for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League Preliminary Round.
The club is among 14 unranked teams entering the first stage of the competition, alongside representatives from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Togo, and Libya.
The draw places East End Lions in line to potentially face some of Africa’s top clubs. Possible opponents include high-ranking sides such as Espérance de Tunis of Tunisia and RS Berkane of Morocco. Other potential matchups could come from Pot 5, featuring AS FAR (Morocco), MC Alger (Algeria), JS Kabylie (Algeria), and Stade Malien (Mali), as well as Pot 4 teams such as Horoya AC (Guinea), US Monastir (Tunisia), FC Nouadhibou (Mauritania), and AS Pikine (Senegal).
The preliminary round presents a challenging path for the Sierra Leonean side, with opportunities for high-profile fixtures against North and West African opposition. The outcome of the draw will determine the Lions’ route as they aim to progress in Africa’s premier club competition.
