Thomas Daddy Brima’s four-year term as President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) officially concluded today, June 5, 2025, in accordance with the SLFA constitution.

His departure paves the way for a new leadership, with the 2025 Elective Congress scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025.

The SLFA announced the date for the Elective Congress via a press release, stating that today marks the exact four-year anniversary since the Thomas Daddy Brima-led Executive Committee assumed office, thus signaling the end of their mandate.

The SLFA Electoral Committee is expected to unveil the official roadmap and calendar of activities for the Elective Congress during a press conference at the SLFA Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown, at 4:00 PM today.

In anticipation of his departure, Brima is appeared live on SLBC TV to discuss what he termed “successes gained in our football ecosystem.” He highlighted several achievements during his presidency, including: Rehabilitation of key stadiums, Historic international victories for Sierra Leonean teams, Introduction of the first-ever SLFA team bus, Significant youth and women’s football development and enhanced professionalism in football governance

Brima characterized his upcoming discussion as “not just a conversation, it’s a celebration of progress in Sierra Leone.”

The SLFA affirmed its commitment to conducting a “transparent, inclusive, and democratic electoral process that upholds the integrity and progress of football governance in Sierra Leone.”
