Sierra Leone made history on Thursday with its first-ever participation in Track Cycling at the Commonwealth Games, and UAE-based cyclist Ibrahim S. Jalloh put Africa on top in the Men’s 4000m Individual Pursuit.
Jalloh clocked 5:10.00 in Heat 1, defeating Ghana’s Mohamed F. S. to finish 1st in his heat, the fastest African time in the event so far at Glasgow 2026. In the same event, fellow Sierra Leonean athlete Mustapha Koroma recorded 5:41.00 seconds but was beaten by his British opponent.
The duo will team up to compete in the Men’s Team Pursuit / Double event, marking the final track cycling appearance for Team Sierra Leone at Glasgow 2026.
