FIFA Council Member, Madam Isha Johansen, has led a high powered FIFA Delegation to the Republic of Liberia and the Republic of Sierra Leone for the FIFA/ Mano River Union (MRU) Football for Peace Initiative Project.

She was received at the Liberia International Airport by Ambassador Maria G. Harrison, the Secretary General of the Mano River Union and other Football stakeholders in the sub-region.
She also led the delegation on an inspection of a proposed football facility site in Malema, Sierra Leone on Saturday, 14th October, 2023.

During the event, PC Mustapha J. Massaquoi, warmly welcomed the delegation to his chiefdom, expressing enthusiasm for the project’s potential in the SoroGbeima Chiefdom.
Maria G. Harrison from the MRU emphasized the project’s goals of fostering peace and regional integration while promoting Malema’s visibility.

FIFA Council Member Isha Johansen expressed delight at the warm reception and outlined FIFA’s commitment to ensuring the project meets the community’s expectations.

The FIFA Council  Member, Johansen  seek to kick start a pledge that will strengthen economic development ties between the sub regional countries [Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Ivory Coast by using football as a common force for Peace and Reconciliation
