Isha Johansen was amongst global icons who accepted FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s call to accept the Fifa Green Card Challenge today June 5th, marking the WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY celebration.

President of Senegal Macky Sall, supermodel Naomi Campbell, Brazilian football ace Pele, Fifa Ambassador Arsene Wenger, were amongst the big names who together with Isha Johansen took to rise to the challenge with Johansen’s message about encouraging low energy cooking pots for women in Africa proving to be very popular amongst Fifa social media subscribers around the world.

 

Fifa Council member and founder of Sierra Leone Premier League club FC Johansen represented President Infantino in Scotland at the COP26 Climate Change Summit in November 2021, to reiterate Fifa’s Commitment to climate change and to talk about the Fifa climate strategy. Fifa has committed to not only making the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 Carbon Neutral, it has also pledged to reduce emissions by 50% in 2030 and reaching net zero by 2040.

In a viral video message published by Fifa, Isha raised the FIFA Green Card on environment preservation and she encouraged everyone to support the campaign.

Johansen has not only accepted Infantino’s pledge verbally, within 24 hours the FC Johansen Foundation headed by director of Gender Affairs Former Miss Sierra Leone Aminata Adialin Bangura donated energy efficient and low emission cooking pots to women living in the deprived urban communities.

She extended the challenge to another energetic Sierra Leonean woman, Mayor of Freetown Yvonne Aki-Sawyer.
