Sierra Leone’s London-born youngsters, Kallum Cesay and Kamil Conteh have both made strong intention to help Leone Stars qualify to the African Cup of Nations (AfCON) in Ivory Coast and the World Cup.

Conteh, who plays for Gateshead on loan from Middlesbrough made his official debut for the Sierra Leone National team in a 3-nil loss to Togo last year. He has already made five appearances for the Leone Stars. (Zolpidem)

Cesay plays regularly for Tottenham U21 and U23s and scored twice for Leone Stars including a debut goal in a 2-1 win over Congo-Brazzaville last year.

The duo were very much part of coach John Keister’s plan as they both featured in the team’s last match against Guinea-Bissau.

Sierra Leone will face São Tomé at home and away this March and the two players believe a win in both matches will position the team in a better position to qualify for Ivory Coast.

Sierra Leone is presently in third position with a point after two games.

The team dropped points against Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau.
