After a 2-1 Defeat against Guinea Bissau, the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone have dropped in the latest FIFA Ranking to 33rd in Africa moving three Places down.
FIFA, the world’s top football governing body, has released its ranking for September.
The Sierra Leone male national team have now drop points in the latest FIFA Rankings.
The rankings mean that the Leone Stars are now 33rd among countries under the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF).
The drop in the ranking for Leone Stars comes after they were defeated by the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau 2-1 in their last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers in Bissau. The Sierra Leone national team performed abysmal in the just concluded AFCON Qualifiers by failing to qualify from Group A. Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau progressed from the group while Sierra Leone and São Tomé and Principé failed to make it to the finals in Ivory Coast next year.
The Leone Stars were previously ranked 120 globally but now dropped to 124 -moving 4 Places down.
The latest rankings mean that the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone are now behind the Atlas Lions of Morocco, the Teranga Lions of Senegal, the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau, Guinea and the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.
