The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone has arrived at the Freetown International Airport after they suffered back to back defeats against Morocco and Ivory Coast.

In the first match, the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire defeated Leone Stars of Sierra Leone 5-1 at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San-Pedro on the 6th January y 2024.

The Elephants secured their opener goal in the first 15 minutes when Ousmane Diomande converted a free Kick. Former AC Milan and Barcelona Midfielder, Frank Kessie secured the second goal in the 35th Minutes with an acrobatic shot followed by Jonathan Bamba 38, Jereme Boga48, and Amani Lazari in the 84th minutes of play.

Sierra Leone Forward, Rodney Micheal secured the lone consolation goal for Sierra Leone.
In the second match, Morocco secured a 3-1 victory over Sierra Leone as the Atlas Lions concluded their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to start on 13 January.

Abu Komeh Musa, a local player for BO Rangers in Sierra Leone, scored the lone goal against Morocco. However, Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri canceled Sierra Leone’s early lead by equalizing for the Atlas Lions in the 30th minute.Five minutes later, winger Sofiane Boufal doubled the lead for Morocco.
