Leone Stars Arrive In Yaoundé Ahead Of Crucial Equatorial Guinea Clash
Aaron Parker Sierra Leone’s national football team, Leone Stars, has safely arrived in Yaoundé, Cameroon, ahead of their second Group E encounter against Equatorial Guinea in the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 qualifiers.
The Sierra Leone delegation arrived in Yaoundé on Saturday morning after departing Morocco on Friday on a direct flight. The delegation is being led by Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara.
Leone Stars are now preparing for Monday’s crucial Group E encounter against Equatorial Guinea, scheduled for September 28, as they seek to recover from their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Zimbabwe in their opening fixture.
The team is expected to continue preparations in Yaoundé, with the players and technical team focused on securing a positive result against Equatorial Guinea and strengthening Sierra Leone’s position in the qualifying campaign.
