Sierra Leone’s football legend and CEO of FC kallon has Come out to give reasons for the club’s protest in the match between Future FC and FC Kallon, which led to their CAF suspensions.

In responding to the press release issued by The Sierra Leone Football Association the former Leone stars captain expresses his dismay as to why the FA will issue a press release of his sanction by CAF, stating that the FA has no right to issue a press release on the said issue but their job was to forward the correspondent received from CAF to FC Kallon.

Kallon said the reason for their protest was because during a protocol meeting before the match they agreed upon using brand new official balls, and after warming up with the new official balls, upon their return to kickstart the match, the official brought in 10 very old balls for them to use, this he said prompted the heavy protest.

Kallon furthered that they were doing this for their country adding that the referee even threatened his players to restart the match, otherwise they will be shown a red card, also disclosed that in all of this the match commissioner refuse to intervene.

The Confederation of African Football CAF responded by levying a suspension on Coach Mohamed Kallon as well as Team Doctor Chernor City Bah for their next four (4) CAF inter-club matches.

CAF also decided to impose upon each of the two Kallon FC officials a financial sanction of 10,000 USD (Ten Thousand Dollars) each, for their offensive behaviour toward the referees of the match. The said amount must be paid within 60 days of the date the decision was taken (28th November 2022).”
