Abu Dumbuya completed 87 minutes of action in his second league appearance for Al Jeel, but the Saudi First Division side fell 1-0 on the road.

The 27-year-old Sierra Leone international started for the second consecutive match since joining the club earlier this month. Al Jeel opened its 2026/27 campaign with a 2-0 home loss to Al Zulfi SC on Aug. 21, a match Dumbuya also started.

Dumbuya, a defensive midfielder born in Freetown on Jan. 29, 1999, arrived at Al Jeel following a brief stint with Finnish Veikkausliiga club AC Oulu, where he made nine league appearances earlier in 2026. He has earned 21 caps for Sierra Leone since his 2019 debut and was part of the Leone Stars squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

His international resume includes a goal during 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification — a November 2024 strike against Chad. At club level, Dumbuya won a national championship with East End Lions in Sierra Leone and has also played for Gençlik Gücü in Northern Cyprus.
