Sierra Leone’s Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE), David Moinina Sengeh has congratulated the Prince of Wales football team for winning the Western Urban District Inter-Secondary School Competition.
Earlier today, Prince of Wales defeated Ahmadiyya 3-2 at the Kingtom Police Field to earn their first school league trophy after three decades hiatus.
According to Dr. Sengeh, this is the first Prince of Wales Football trophy after 31 years of school league matches.
He further commended the Ahmadiyya boys and girls for their compartments. He thanked the teachers and everyone who helped the finals to be successful.
“I walked back to campus (yes I am a proud Prince Walean) and was able to celebrate with the boys and staff. I would like to thank Mr. Christian Dauda- the former team manager of the Leone Stars for providing the trophies and medals and being there for the entire match. Also, Prince Walean donated 50 million leones to the school for football development. Thank you!
The coaches, the police, the referees, and many people who volunteered their time, we thank you,” Minister Sengeh stated.
He acknowledged the challenges in the competition by stating that against all odds, they have completed the Inter-Secondary Schools regional football Tournament.
