The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, in Collaboration with the Director of the National Sports Authority, Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq, and the Minister of Sports, Augusta James-Teima, officially welcomes New Leone Stars Head Coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, during a press conference at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Babadi Kamara welcomed Coach Didier to Sierra Leone and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the national team to greater success.

He noted that the appointment reflects the SLFA’s Commitment to building a competitive Leone Stars side capable of achieving its ambitions on the continental and global stage.
NSA Executive Director Mohamed Alphaka Conteh, Esq. reaffirmed the government’s support for the national team and pledged continued collaboration between the NSA and the SLFA to create an enabling environment for football development and success.
Furthermore, Minister of Sports Augusta James-Teima congratulated the new coach on his appointment and assured him of the Ministry’s full support. She emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort as Sierra Leone prepares for upcoming international competitions.

In his remarks, Coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa thanked the SLFA, the Government of Sierra Leone, and the football-loving people of the country for the confidence reposed in him.
Finally, he pledged to work diligently with his technical team and players to build a strong, disciplined, and competitive Leone Stars team capable of making the nation proud.
