Mustapha Bundu’s Plymouth Argyle have been relegated to League One following a 2-1 home defeat to newly crowned champions Leeds United on the final day of the English Championship season.
The loss sealed the club’s drop to the third tier of English football, ending a difficult campaign on a disappointing note.
Despite the Argyle’s struggles, the season marked a personal high for forward Mustapha Bundu. The Sierra Leone international enjoyed the most prolific campaign of since joining the team netting 10 league goals to finish as one of Plymouth’s joint-top scorers.
While relegation looms large for the club, Bundu’s individual performance has been a rare bright spot and could draw attention ahead of the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, the striker is in the final year of his contract at Argyle and there are doubts that he could at the Home Ground next season.
Bundu had wonderful spells at Aarhus in Denmark especially in the 2019-2020 season where he found the net eight times in 27 appearances in the Danish top-tier league. The striker last played FC Andorra in the Spanish Segunda before joining Plymouth in the UK.
