The President of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOC), Prince Vandy Sualley, has commended Secretary General Ahmed Khanou for his leadership and contributions to the growth and development of the Committee.
Sualley made the remarks during a presentation on the performance of Sierra Leone’s U-17 wrestling team, which won five medals at the 2026 West African Championships. He noted that Khanou’s administrative leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the Committee’s operations and enhancing its international profile.
According to the NOC President, recent successes across multiple sporting disciplines reflect the effectiveness of the Secretariat’s strategic direction and coordination. He stated that under the current leadership, the Committee has improved its capacity to support athletes and boost Sierra Leone’s participation in global competitions.
Sualley added that the progress within the NOC signals a renewed sense of purpose and professionalism, positioning the institution to play a more impactful role in national sports development.
The commendation comes as the National Olympic Committee continues efforts to build a more structured and competitive sporting environment in Sierra Leone.
