Regional Secretary of the Northern Region Volleyball Association Simeon Kargbo has ascribed that the PC Koblo Queen II regional qualifiers will take place this weekend on the 7th and 8th of October 2022 in Lunsar, Port Loko District.

Simeon Kargbo disclosed that the delay for the Northern qualifiers is due to financial constraints, however, after a series of lobbying the Paramount Chief of Marampa Chiefdom in Lunsar has assured them of his unflinching support which is the reason why it is titled “PC Koblo Queen II regional qualifiers” in honor of his contributions to the development of volleyball in the region and Alhaji Sanusi Bah Esquire also sponsored the qualifiers.

Adding, two teams from Makeni, one each from Port Loko, Kambia, and Lunsar respectively set to battle this weekend in Lunsar for the three spots to represent the region in the national volleyball championship which has been slated for next month in November 2022.

The NRVA Scribe concluded that throughout the qualifiers the matches will be available to the general populace for free of cost “we are trying to ensure people have more interest in Volleyball and we are aware of the fact that it is also popular in Sierra Leone as compared to football, over the years we have been facing constraints to have support either from the government or private institutions so for us to bring the people closer and have more passion for the game we have decided that the qualifiers will be accessible to the public at free of cost” Simeone Kargbo noted.
