Old Edwardians Football Club in a press release issued on Monday 20th February 2023 disassociates itself from a supporter who attacked the assistant referee which led to the halt of the match with FC Kallon in the early stages of the second half.

The release state that the match between FC Kallon and Old Edwardians was halted at 1-1 in the early stages of the second half after the officials refused to continue with the match alleging the assiatant referee was hit in the eye by an unknown supporter.

The club pointed out that according to the Officials in charge, the match did not continue because the asst. The referee affected has left for medical treatment and there was no one to replace him therefore the match did not continue.

As a Club, we will like to disassociate ourselves from the said supporter who attacked the asst. Referee and call on the Premier League Board to speedily investigate the incident that occurred at the Angola Playing Field” Chairman Richard Hindolo Senessie stated.

The Club affirmed that continues to condemn all forms of violence and attack on match officials as we await the decision of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board.
