

Sierra Queens Arrive in Cape Verde Ahead of WAFU Women’s Tournament

Sierra Leone’s National Female Team, Sierra Queens have safely landed in Cape Verde ahead of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone ‘A’ Women’s Tournament.,
The team, led by Ramatu Kamara, who is part of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Executive Committee and also Head of Sierra Leone Women’s Football made their safe and peaceful landing at the Melia Dunas hotel, Cape Verde on the 19th January, 2023.

Sierra Leone have been grouped with the defending champions, Senegal, The Gambia and Guinea in Group B, whereas the hosts, Cape Verde are grouped with Mauritania and Guinea Bissau.

Sierra Leone Queens are set to have their opening match against The Gambia on Saturday 21st January, 2023 at Stadium Marcelo Leitao at 5pm. The two top teams from each group will gain automatic qualification to the semi-finals.
