French Ligue 1 team RC Lens is looking to keep Man City defender Juma Bah for another season, according to French football newspaper Foot Mercato.
The Sierra Leone International has put in stellar performances in recent matches, including twice making the French Ligue 1 team of the week since joining Lens from City in the January transfer window.
The towering centre-back joined the French team for a short loan after City secured his signature from Real Valladolid in late January.
However, reports indicate that Lens coach Will Still who would like to have the defender for another season before departing for the Premier League. This became apparent when Lens’ Sporting Director, Diego Lopez, was spotted in Manchester with the French media, suggesting that he was there to discuss Bah’s future.
Bah’s rise since leaving Sierra Leone for Spain has been sharp after putting on superb performances in less than 10 games. The young talent soon attracted attention from Premier League teams like Everton, City, and Newcastle weeks before the January transfer window.
