Sierra Leone Men’s National Football team, Leone Stars have reportedly received ten million old Leones (Le10,000,000) from one of its football administrators, Rodney Michael.
It was learnt the money will serve as support to the team for their ongoing preparation ahead of the upcoming Nation cup qualifiers.
Rodney Michael, who is the present chairman of the mighty Black Pool football club, presented the money through the team Manager of Leone Stars Babadi Kamara.
Kamara presented the ten million old Leones (Le10, 000,000 to the team on behalf of Rodney Michael at the team’s training grounds on Wednesday 8 March 2023.
Rodney Michael, in his few remarks, said it is the responsibility of every citizen to support Sierra Leone in any circumstance when you have the upper hand.
He added that as chairman of a premier league club, he should support football projects that involve the country’s interests more especially in a time like this.
Leone team star is in preparation to represent Sierra Leone in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers. The team is scheduled to play in a doubleheader against Sao Tome and Principles on Wednesday 22 and Sunday 26 March 2023, in Agadir Morocco.
