The Head Coach of Sierra Leone’s U-20 National Team, Mohamed Lamin Kamara, has invited 25 home-based players to join a training camp as preparations continue for the upcoming TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The camp officially began on Friday, April 11, in Freetown. The tournament is scheduled to run from April 27 to May 18, 2025. This will be Sierra Leone’s first appearance at the competition.
Players have been selected from various Premier League and First Division clubs across the country. These include East End Lions, Old Edwardians, Wusum Stars, FC Kallon, Star Sports, Luawa FC, SLIFA, Mighty Blackpool, Bo Rangers, Wilberforce FC, Kamboi Eagles, Bhantal FC, and Diamond Stars. One overseas-based player from Minnesota United was also included in the squad.
The camp will focus on final game plans and fitness checks ahead of the team’s departure for Egypt. The squad is expected to be reduced before the final list is submitted to CAF.
Sierra Leone is aiming to make a strong impression at the tournament and has been placed in a competitive group. The full tournament fixtures and group details are expected to be released in the coming days.
