Since the kick-start of the first ever Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League in October, the league has shown and changed the mindset Sierra Leoneans had about female football. 

The fight over who sits at the 1st position of the league’s table has been intense. Many teams have had the opportunity but were knocked off the position with a single mistake or a match lost. The instance of Female FC Kallon, Kahunla FC, Mogbwemo Queens, Mena Queens have been there once or some weeks but were dropped down the next position with a little match blunder.

The league has just clocked it first-leg matches after 11 weeks of football and we bring you league updates and the table standings.

The Super Saturday fixtures featured Mena Queens with host Patricia Umu FC  at the Makeni Wusum field in the Northern Derby. The match ended in favour of Mena Queens as they thrashed their counterpart on 1:0 which earned them 17 points and sits at 4th position on the league table.

Mogbwemo Queens FC on Saturday 24th December, 2022 sat on the 1st position of the league table with 29 points. They clashed with Sierra Leone Police FC at the Rutile field but the match ended on a 2:1 victory in favour of Mogbwemo Queens. The team presently sits second position after Kahunla Queens thrashed Albitaya Queens and claimed the first.

Sunday 25th December, 2022 was a memorable day for the Female Premier League as Kahunla Queens hosted Albitaya Queens from Kabala at the Kenema City field. The match ended on a 3:1 defeat against Albitaya Queens. This victory of the Kenema Queens ( Kahunla Queens FC) earned them 1st position on the league table.

In their most recent matchup at the Angola field against their Western Area rival Correctional Service, the revitalized FC Kallon Female thrashed Mena Queens 6-1.

The eighth-placed team Malema Queens from Kailahun had a tough opponent for Koya Queens when they hosted them at the Mile 38 field.

At the Bo Coronation field, the third-placed Ram K Football Club played its final game against the Western Area team VEM Buck Football Club.
