Sierra Leone’s National Female team, Sierra Queens have clinched the WAFU Zone A Championship title after defeating Senegal 1-0 in the final match held in Nouakchott.
This victory marks Sierra Leone’s first-ever WAFU Zone A title, showcasing the team’s exceptional performance and determination throughout the tournament.
The decisive moment of the match came in the 70th minute when Captain Slamatu Kamara successfully converted a penalty, securing the win for the Sierra Queens. Her outstanding performance earned her the Woman of the Match award, further exemplifying her leadership on the field.
The match was closely contested, showcasing the skill and resilience of both teams. However, it was the Leone Stars’ unity and determination that ultimately led to their triumph, igniting celebrations across Sierra Leone.
