The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially announced a vacancy for the position of Head Coach of the national men’s football team, Leone Stars.

In a release dated April 22, 2026, the association invited applications from suitably qualified candidates to lead the senior national team’s technical direction and oversee its performance in international competitions.

According to the SLFA, the successful candidate will be responsible for team selection, match preparation, tactical leadership, and the organization of training camps. The role also requires close collaboration with the SLFA Technical Department and the Team Manager to ensure effective team management.

The association further stated that the Head Coach will be expected to define the team’s playing philosophy, supervise training programmes, and monitor player performance to maintain a competitive and balanced squad.

Applicants must possess a CAF A License, UEFA Pro License, or an equivalent FIFA-recognized coaching qualification. Candidates are also required to have between five to ten years of experience at the senior level, preferably with a national team or top-tier club, along with a proven track record in competitive football.

The SLFA emphasized the need for strong leadership, sound tactical knowledge, and the ability to perform under pressure, noting that experience within African football environments will be an added advantage.
