Mohamed Kallon has been confirmed officially as the Head Coach of Sierra Leone National Football Team, Leone Stars while Abdul Karim will be in charge of the Home-Based Team.

The appointment was communicated to Sierraloaded in a meeting with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) on Tuesday, an official announcement is expected soon.

Kallon, 45, enjoyed an illustrious playing career, featuring for top European clubs such as Inter Milan, AS Monaco, and Al-Ittihad. He earned 39 caps for Sierra Leone, scoring seven goals, and captained the national team during his tenure.

Transitioning into coaching, Kallon obtained his UEFA Pro Licence in 2020, becoming the first Sierra Leonean to achieve this qualification. He has been instrumental in developing young talent through his club, FC Kallon, and previously served as head coach of Sierra Leone’s U-17 team.

While the SLFA has yet to issue an official statement, anticipation is building among fans who hope that Kallon’s leadership will usher in a new era of success for the Leone Stars.
