The Sierra Leone Football Association has held a training session with club managements, District and Regional Football Associations across Sierra Leone ahead of the commencement of the Football Association Cup.

The training was facilitated by a team of officials of the Sierra Leone Football Association headed by the Director of Competitions, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay.

The rationale behind the conduction of the training is in preparation of this year’s edition of the FA Cup tournament with focus on Administration, Media and Marketing, and Safety and Security.

According to reports, ‘Eighteen Premier League teams, Ten Division Two and all First Division clubs (Division One) in every District will compete in the 2023 SLFA Cup. The competition is schedule to kick off in Kono District, Koidu Town on April 30 at 4:15pm.

Meanwhile, FC Johansen, were the champions of the 2016 edition after they defeated Republic of SierraLeone Armed Forces (RSLAF) 1-0 in a replay final in Makeni.

The grand finale of the competition will be staged at the Makeni Wusum field.
