The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has confirmed that all prize money for winners of its 2025/26 competitions has been fully paid, following the official crowning of champions across its major tournaments.
The payments cover winners in both the men’s and women’s Premier Leagues, as well as the Orange FA Cup, marking the fulfilment of the Association’s financial obligations in line with its competition regulations.
East End Lions, winners of the 2026 Orange FA Cup, received their prize money immediately after being crowned champions. The club secured the title with a 1-0 victory over Mighty Blackpool in the final played at the Southern Arena in Bo on June 20, 2026. The win earned them a cash prize of Le150,000, while runners-up Mighty Blackpool are set to receive Le100,000. In addition to the financial reward, East End Lions also secured qualification for the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
The SLFA stated that the timely disbursement of prize money reflects its commitment to transparency, accountability, and improved governance within Sierra Leone football. In previous years, delays in payments to clubs had raised concerns among stakeholders, prompting reforms under the current administration.
Under the leadership of SLFA President Babadi Kamara, the Association has prioritised financial discipline and strengthened partnerships, including securing a 20 per cent increase in sponsorship from Leone Rock for the 2025/26 season.
The Association congratulated all winning clubs and expressed appreciation to its partners, the government, and football stakeholders for their continued support in developing the sport across the country.
