SLFA, FIFA Train Over 30 Women’s Football Administrators
The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), with support from FIFA, on Thursday, October 29, continued a three-day capacity-building workshop for women’s football administrators, bringing together more than 30 participants from across the country.
Day Two focused on strategic planning, implementation of Sierra Leone’s newly launched Women’s Football Strategy, monitoring and evaluation of football programmes, and safeguarding.
FIFA facilitators Tsholofelo Candy Setlhoko from Botswana and Thubaelih Bridgette Sibanda from Zimbabwe led sessions on strategic planning, SWOT analysis, action planning, and the use of SMART goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress.

Safeguarding Officer Makallay Kamara, supported by SLFA Women’s Football Manager Elizabeth Alberta Kailey, also led a session emphasising the importance of protecting everyone involved in football and creating a safe and inclusive environment. Participants engaged in practical safeguarding scenarios and a quiz to reinforce their understanding.
The workshop follows the launch of Sierra Leone’s first-ever Women’s Football Strategy on Wednesday, October 28, at the Empower Africa Business Centre in Freetown.

The final day, scheduled for Friday, October 30, will cover sustainable club management, project design and management, sponsorship, financial management and community engagement. Participants are expected to receive approved certificates of participation at the closing ceremony.
