The Parliament of the Republic of Sierra Leone has today summond the Minister of Sports, Executive Director, National Sport Authority, Secretary General and the President of SLFA to a meeting of enquiry following allegations of undisclosed travel to United Arab Emirates, Dubai. 

The said travel was as a result of friendly matches played ahead of the Africa Nations Cup Qualifiers 2023. This decision taken by the SLFA President and team without informing the public sparked reactions from Sierra Leoneans who are with the thoughts that the body is taking the football game to be a secret society.

In reaction this aforementioned subjects, The Parliament of Sierra Leone has ordered the Minister of Sports, Ibrahim Nyelenkeh, Executive Director and Thomas Daddy Brima, President of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to a meeting.

The meeting is scheduled to be hosted on Wednesday 30th November 2022 at 10:00 am in the Committee Room one to brief Committee members on the recent trip of the Sierra Leone National Men’s football team to Dubai.

In light of the aforementioned subject, The SLFA body and delegates are urged to produce 17 copies of the following documents not later than Friday 25th November 2022:

1. A full list of all 50 delegates that made the trip to Dubai and their roles in the body.

2. The amount of fund disbursed by government to the National Sport Authority for the aforementioned trip and finally

3. Receipts and supporting documents on expenditure for the Dubai trip.

The outcome of the meeting is still unpredictable as it is unclear what decision the committee will derive at after the  meeting.
